Show Cedar Hills man escapes shooting incident without injury A Cedar Hills man could say Tuesday was both "lucky and unlucky" for him. Jerry Hoffman was standing in his kitchen when a .22 calibre bullet penetrated the front window and struck him as he was standing in the kitchen area of the residence. He was lucky in that it did not injure him seriously. Detective Jens Horn of the Utah County Sheriff's Office said Mr. Hoffman was struck in the lower part of the right side of his chest, in his lower rib cage, by the bullet and was knocked down. He was taken to the American Fork Hospital where he was x-' x-' rayed, treated and released. The officer said three juveniles were apparently shooting the .22 rifle near the residence when the incident occurred. He said the shooting is still under investigation but it appears to have been accidental. |
