I N , i . i ! t FIRST PLACE WINNERS from the Country Rhythm Cloggers in their age divisions individual freestyle at Ricks College Clogging Cham pionships were, L to R, Mark, Debbie, Joshua, Marcus and Andrew Williams. Country Rhythm Cloggers win place in the 9-10-11 boys freestyle Jennie Johnson, 3rd place in the J 10-11 girls freestyle; RU88eu Nielson and Kristen Dickerson first place duets 9-10-11; Joshua Williams and Jennie Johnson 2nd place duets 9-10-11; and Kristi Johnson and Tricia Walton 3rd place duets 9-10-11. Other finalists were Jennie Topham 9-10-11 girlg freestyle and Mark and Debbe Williams adult duets. The Country Rhythm Cloggers were the defending champion from last year's junior division. Since that time they have captured first and second place at the Utah Open Clogging Championships in ' Salt Lake City; first in the senior and second in the junior at the Ute ! Stampede Clog Championships in i Nephi; first in the junior and second in the senior at the Rocky Mountain Clogging Champion ! ships in Ogden and Gold Team at the Intermountain Clog p Championships at Pleasant Grove, They are the only team in the fi Intermountain West to have placed first or gold in every competition held in this area in the past year Mr. and Mrs. Williams are currently attending a clogging workshop in Fontana, North Carolina, the capital city of clogging in America. I! The Country Rhythm Cloggers, directed by Mark and Debbe Williams, of Pleasant Grove, participated in the fourth annual Ricks College Clogging Championships held Saturday, April 14, in Rexburg, Idaho. Entering five of six team categories, the Country Rhythm Cloggers captured first place in four of the events; small team 11 and under, small teaui 18 and under, large team 1 1 and under, and large team 12 to 17. They placed third in the small team 12 to 17. Other teams winning the top spot were the Sawtooth Cloggers of Twin Falls, Idaho and the Ricks College Cloggers of Rexburg, Idaho. Over 250 cloggers gathered at the event representing Ogden, Orem, Provo, Kaysville, Logan, Smithfield, Pleasant Grove, Draper, American Fork, Sandy, Springville, and Burley, Idaho. Besides the team competition they also had Individual Freestyle and duet competition. An interesting sidenote to the competition were the Williams Family of Pleasant Grove. Mark and Debbe, directors of the Country Rhythm Cloggers, and their three sons all garnered first place trophies in their respective age ; categories in the individual ' freestyle event. Joshua, 9, captured first in the 9-10-11 age group; Marcus, 7, won top honors in the 6-7-8- category; and Andrew, 5, clogged his way to first in the five and under group.
