Show Valley View School holds Cultural Arts Week Valley View School held a Cultural Arts Week from April 9 to April 13 which has been a valuable experience for the children. Chairman of the week's activities were Julie Jewell and Kimi Leathan. On Monday a variety show was held. Involved in the show was a string ensemble directed by Conrad Dunn; the school choir directed by Mr. Bodell; a ladies quartet consisting of Marily Barry, Jeanine Thomas, Judy Ridge and Robin Robbins; a ballet by Laurie Walker and her students and the Country Rhythm Cloggers performed to conclude the day. Featured on Tuesday were Kimball Warren, an artist, and Mike Wardle, a sculptor. 1 Janel Holdaway dancers and Judy Ridge doing calligraphy were the entertainers on Wednesday. Carolyn Chadwick demonstrated demon-strated sculpturing and Dee Ann Thaxton did tole painting for the children on Thursday. The week concluded with Jack Reynolds as a clown and Betty Liston with art. It was a memorable experience for the students. |
