Show . - . . . f i !.-- 3 - I f rrxT. 7fT ' " I l , ' , - - - , Public hearings for handicapped scheduled The Utah State Division of Services Ser-vices to the Handicapped will hold public hearings to develop a five-year five-year state plan to provide services for the handicapped beginning April 24. Agencies, parents and interested persons serving the handicapped, disabled and mentally retarded are invited to attend. Purpose of the meetings are three-fold, according to Allen Evans, associate director, Division of Services to the Handicapped. Han-dicapped. These are to describe the existing services in the communities; to encourage public input and testimony regarding service needs and gaps within the current system; and to gather recommendations on how to meet needs and fill gaps of the handicapped, disabled and mentally retarded. Mr. Evans suggests a written summary of recommendations be submitted to assure documentation, but says this is not mandatory. Public testimony by parents, agencies, professionals . and interested in-terested citizens is encouraged, he said. TOM PAUL inspects stolen motor home which was confiscated following arrested a man and woman in Pleasant Grove last week. A hearing is scheduled for Provo on April 24 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Provo City Power building, 251 W. 800 North. There will also be one in Salt Lake City on April 26 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the White Chapel, 140 E. 300 North. Other hearings are scheduled for Logan, Ogden, Roosevelt, Cedar City, Richfield, Blanding and Price. |
