Show Funeral Services Held Saturday for Chloe Shipley Funeral services for Chloe Thorne Harper Shipley, 81, of Pleasant Grove, who died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1975 at the American Fork Hospital of causes incident to age, were held last Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove First Ward Chapel with Bishop Lloyd K. Ash conducting. Speakers at the services were Maymetta Johnson and Boyd Anderson, and a life sketch was given by JoAnn McOmie Child. Vocal numbers were given by JoAnne Brady and Patricia Seely, accompanied by Margene Shumway, and the prelude and postlude music w as played by Andrea Olsen and Julia Olsen .Smoot. Prayers were given by .Roy T. Harper, Elvin R. Thorne, and Paul L. Blackhurst, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by Don McOmie. Pallbearers were Mack Boyer, David Cutchen, Samuel Harper, Michael Radmall, Todd Harper, Don S. McOmie. Honorary Pallbearers were Duane McOmie, Kirk Shipley, Craig Shipley, Lynn Harper and Douglas McOmie. Mrs. Shipley was born Jan. 22, 1894 in Pleasant Grove, a daughter of David and Annie E. Armitstead Thorne. She married Samuel Duane Harper Aug. 29, 1917, and the marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Nov. 7, 1955. She married Randall Shipley Oct. 22, 1956 in Pleasant Grove. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove First Ward. Survivors include her husband, one son and one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Helen) Radmall, Sparks, Nov.; Roy Thorne Harper, Mt. Vernon, Wash.; one stepson and one stepdaughter, R. Carl Shipley, American Fork; Mrs. Don (Jean) McOmie, Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren and one brother, Leo Thorne, Salt Lake City. |
