Show FOREST FIRES ARE NOW UNDER CONTROL Missoula, Mont., Aug. S. The forest for-est fire situation is reported to bo much improved today from every national na-tional forest and every scene of firo v.ithin field district No. 1. At the district dis-trict headquarters here, the official hnvc taken a most optimistic view of the situation and bellevo that, with tho men now in the Oeld, tho flres taT all be controlled. Forester Greeley, who spent Sunday Sun-day here, returned to the field of jction in tho Clearwater forest today to-day and will remain in the field until un-til all danger is passed. No new i fires, were reported today. Light rains last night aro reported to havo done much good In several districts. The message that President Taft had authorized the use of tho army, if called upon by the forestry officials, of-ficials, was received at the headquarters headquar-ters this morning. After Its receipt, Associate Forester Sllco.x, acting forester, for-ester, said: "It don't seem now that It will be necessary to call on the troops unless un-less It be for the purpose of establishing estab-lishing a permanent patrol until tho flree are all out. We will take th" matter up with the officers at Fort Missoula and also at Fort Harrison this state, and report some understanding under-standing at once.
