Show SIX AUSTRIANS SEVERELY HURT. Two Lose a Limb Each, and Another May Lose His Eyesight. Salt Lake, Aug. &. Three Aus-tnans Aus-tnans were frightfully mangled ann three others severely injured by -i celayed explosion in a cut on the I'.ingham & Garfield railroad, Sunday forenoou. The scene of the explosion is one-half mile south of the Pleasant Geen cemetery and about four and one-half miles southerly from Gar-f.eld. Gar-f.eld. The injured men are Mike Milich, Mike rtaskJch. Nich Kanak. Rade Ra-s-.ch. Mane Mllisovplzei and Lazo Kasklck. They were rushed to St. Mark's hospital in this city as soon as possibly after the accident. At the hospital, Nick Kanak's left leg was amputated between the knee, and aiikle: Lazo Raskick's left leg was amputated above the knee; and Rade Raslch wa.s found to be so severely injured about thy eyes that he may bite his siiht. The other men were found fcufTerlng from many painful ruts and bruises but their condition is by no means critical. The men were engaged in blasting blast-ing rock at tho time of the accident. One of the holes, which had beyi chambered with black and giant powder, pow-der, had not exploded within what was considered a reasonable time, and the Austrlans went back lo recap P. While they were thus engaged, the charge exploded and they were blown in all directions, nearly all being be-ing rendered unconscious by the shock. Brought to This City. Dr. Downiug left the city immediately for Garfield, but met the party at Ki'.er, whither th injured men bad been conveyed by team, and relumed with them to the city. Ambulances Am-bulances from St. Mark's hospital conveyed the injured, men to that in-Ftltution in-Ftltution immediately upon the arrival arri-val of the train in Sail Lake. The operations, which were found necessary, were performed by Dr. -T. f.
