Six thousand coat tailors In Greater New York quit work between Saturday night and j Monday morning, in addition to 15.000 who went on strike last week in re- j sponse to a call sent out by the ex- ecutlve committee of tbe Brotherhood i of Tailors, under whose auspices the ! strike was called. Many more are j expected to quit during the week, and, ' according to the union officers, 15,'i'0 altogether will be on strike in Greater New York before the end of tbe week. : The demands are for a 53-hour working week and a minimum scale of $1S a week for coat workers: $17 ; for hasten, $17 for finishers and $u I i for prospers- j I |
