Show WORK IS BEGUN AT IB' CLOUD CAJP START AT MILL A FAILURE AS NO ITALIANS APPEAR. Operations at Machine Shop and Box Factory Resumed by Aid of Americans. I McCloud, Cal., Juno 4 Fifty-flvo special deputies arrived early today, under command of J. F. Farley. The start of the mill, was a failure, as no Italians reported for work. The machine ma-chine shop and box factor', however, resumed operations with Americans. Two of the logging camps commenced operations with limited crews. Warrants have been Issued for the men seen In the front of the strikers' ranks, but they have left the vicinity, it Is thought There i3 no disposition to yield on either side. Tho Italians claim that they are in a financial way able to hold out for a year more, but unless outside aid Is coming In, this Is hardly possible. Arrangements are being made to Import Im-port outside labor to take the places of those of the old employes who refuse re-fuse to return to work. The company declares Itself determined to rid itself of all who will not return to work, and says It Is only a question of time when they will be evicted and deported. |
