Show U. A. C. COMMENCEMENT CONCLUDED AT LOGAN. Logan, June 3 The A. C. U. commencement com-mencement just concluded was very gratifying to the college authorities. Many persons and patrons of tho state Institution have attended the exercises and pronounce them the best ever. At the commencement exercises yesterday yes-terday morning President John A. Wldtsoe gave a very flattering report of the present condition of affairs at ther school. He Btated that the school had accommodated nearly one hundred more students this year than ever before be-fore in the history of the Institution. There are two great needs yet to be gained at the school, however, and they are an electric railroad from town and a gymnasium. President Stohl gave the welcome address, fol prayer by Elder D. O McKay. Of the graduates Mr. Bundorson, Miss McKay and Mr. Carroll gave scholarly and thoughtful addrebbes. .. The address to the graduates by Governor Spry was full of inspiration. As college graduates he exhorted them to never forget their college dignity wherever their lot may be, and to also remember their duty to society and their obligations to the state that educated edu-cated them. Tho degrees and certificates were conferred by Presideut Wldtsoe. Tho music throughout the,-exercises was furnished by a quartet consisting of Mrs. Sloan. Mrs. Linuartz, Mr. Baugh and Mr. Thatcher. The alumni association in its meeting meet-ing re-elected the same officers as last year. President, Christian Larsen; firtst vice president, L. A. MerrLll; second sec-ond vice president, Minnie Peterson Isgreen; secretary and treasurer. John Coburn. j The association appointed a .committee .com-mittee to investigate the constitution and by-lawg and make recommendations recommenda-tions to the association.' A committee was also appointed to investigate tho matter and If possible prevail on those who have the matter in charge to so- leel a member of the alnninl for a j member of the board of trustees. |
