Show ACTIVE PREPARATIONS FOR INTERCOLLEGIATE REGATTA New York, June 4. Active preparations prepara-tions were started today for the Intercollegiate In-tercollegiate regatta to be held on the Hudson river at Poughkeepsic on Julv 2. The Columbia 'Varsity and Freshmen Fresh-men crew squad arrived at Poughkeepsic Pough-keepsic yesterday, and entered the la6t stages of its training. The Wisconsin Wis-consin and Cornell squads, jvith those from Pennsylvania and Georgetown, are expected in a day or two. The training will continue over the,course until the eve of the race. The Columbia Colum-bia squad consists of eighteen 'varsity and twelve freshmen oarsmen, with two 'varsity coxswain, one freshman coxswain, the manager and assistant j managers of (he crew and James G Rice, the coach.' Columbia is consld- j ered to have an except ionally strong j 'varsity crew this year. |
