Show UTAH MUSICIAN WINS DIVORCE AT BOSTON SALT LAKE, May 19 Dispatches from Boston, Mass., received here yes-1 terday, carried the information that Arthur E. Sheppard, a professor of, music at the New England Conserva-; lory of Music, has been granted an Absolute divorce from Hattie J. Sheppard Shep-pard of Salt Lake in the Boston superior su-perior court. I Sheppard, who is exceedingly prom-, prom-, inent in Greater Boston, a musician of i great .merit, and a former resident of Salt Lake, alleged infidelity on the part of his. wife at numerous times, naming Dr. Thomas G. O'Dell of Salt Lake. Testimony alleging improper conduct con-duct and relations between Dr. Odell and Mrs. Sheppard, offered by the husband hus-band and witnesses, featured the hearing hear-ing which was not contested. Dr. Odell, according to Sheppard, ruined ru-ined his formerly happy domestic life and caused the separation which the court made permanent. Mrs. Sheppard, according to the witnesses, is at present pres-ent in Salt Lake. Chief Justice Aiken expressed his regret at being forced to separate the three children born to the couple. The boys he awarded to Mr. Sheppard and the daughtor to her mother's custody when granting the decree. Tho case has aroused considerable interest in Boston. oo |
