Show OOKKS INITIATE NEWJOBERS Ogden Order to Confer Degrees De-grees at Event in Salt Lake Tonight With the Ogden "brigand team" of sixteen members conferring degrees, a class of 100 members will be initialed initi-aled Into the Knights of Pythkis and the Pythian Sisters tonight at the Nowhouso hotol in Salt Lake. The initiation is a part of the annual convention con-vention which is now being held in that city. The class will he taken into the "Dokks," as the Dramatic Order of Knights of Khorassan is known. The initiation will bo followed by a banquet ban-quet in honor of the new grand lodge officers of both Knights of Pythias and Pythian Sisters. The thirty-seventh annual session opened yesterday morning with about 200 Pythians and Pythian Sisters In attendance at the Knights of Pythias hall. Justice J. E. Frlck, C. E. Price and Mrs. Lucy B. Watson delivered the opening addresses, while music was i furnished by the Salt Lake Opera quartet, Fred C. Graham, director. At 1 o'clock yesterday morning the open session adjourned and the grand lodge of the Knights of Pythias opened open-ed Its thirty-seventh annual session, Grand Chancellor William Waters being be-ing hi the chair. The Pythian Sisters held their session in th.e banquet room of the Newhouse hotel on the mezzanine mezza-nine of the hotel. At the grand lodges opening session about seventy-five representatives from the twenty Pythian Pyth-ian lodges In Utah, were present, the i rank of Knight being conferred upon a j class of fifty candidates last evening. ! The Pythian Sisters completed the work of installation of a class at their afternoon session. Following the completion of rank work last evening the Knights and Sisters adjourned to the Newhouso hotel ho-tel where a banquet was held, Grand Chancellor William Waters being toastmaster and Will H Folland the speaker. Mr. Folland traced tho origin ori-gin of secret society work from Egypt to the .present, referred to the "application "ap-plication to every day life of ideals of the secret order when these Ideals bo-came bo-came treasures, indeed," and spoke in detail of the Order of Knights of Pythias. |
