Show PUPimN FETE May Festival of Young Hopefuls Hope-fuls Held on Street ' Near School A crowd of two hundred witnessed the May Festival of the Central Junior Ju-nior high school, held yesterday afternoon after-noon at 2:30 o'clock on Adams avenue, I near the school. The exercises were under the direction of Mrs Jean Case. Mayor Frank Francis, Superintendent W. Karl Hopkins and Principal D. H. Adams were present at the destival. Every youngster in the school, It was stated, took part in the event. Three drill companies, under tho command com-mand of boys of their own classes, performed per-formed militarj' evolutions with the ease and graco of veterans, while their officers, though somewhat treble-voiced, treble-voiced, were never at a loss for a proper command. A crack riflo squad, armed with wooden guns, went through an exercise in which their Tho girls appeared at even better advantage than the boys of the drill teams. A series of dances by the feminine femi-nine portion of the school, evoked applause. ap-plause. A little Japanese girl was the, best Highland Fling dancer, surpassing surpass-ing her schoolmates in gracefulnoss. Probably the prettiest dances of the afternoon were the May Pole dance and tho Minuet. The Minuet was the only dance in which boys of the school took part.
