Show SANTA FE LINE GIVEN JEW Freight Traffic Stopped at Winslow and Williams New Outbreaks. TRAINS MADE UP AND BgOVED BY OFFICIALS Three Crews Walk Out at Ashland, Oregon Improvement Im-provement at Portland SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., April 13. With its division points at Winslow and Williams, Ariz., virtually paralyzed so far as freight traffic is concerned, tho Santa Fe line was given another handicap in a strike at Seligman. Officials Of-ficials lacked definite Information as to its extent tonight. At Bakersfield, where it wus thought by railroad officials that the situation was well in hand, strikers who had returned re-turned to. work, walked out again to-c-4. y. Trains operating there were being be-ing made up and moved nbout the yard by officials. The only switchmen switch-men at work in either Santa Fe or Southern Pacific yards at Bakersfield are two local officials of the Brotherhood Brother-hood of Railroad Trainmen, who aro aiding in making up Santa Fe trains. At Ashland, Oregon, three Southern Pacific switching crews walked out. At Sparks, Nov , part of the men on strike returned to work, Southern Pacific Pa-cific officials said and three freight trains were moved eastward and two westward. Developments elsewhere were as follows: Sacramento, Calif., railroad officials said all passenger trains were moving on schedule. Somo new men put to work. Los Angeles Strikers asserted from 5,000 to 7,000 men were out. Railroad Rail-road officials denied this. Portland, Ore. Somo improvement li: situation, officials said. |
