Show oo German Recaptured in Ogden to be Deported l Fred Koch, arrested two years ago t at Seattle, suspected of communicat-i Ing with employes of tho Bremerton navy yards to gain information for Germany, was removed from the Fort Dougl.iB prison camp yesterday, D. A. Piumley, United States Immigration Inspector, taking him to San, Francisco. Fran-cisco. Koch was brought to Fort Douglas for internment after having escaped fiom the war prison barracks at Vancouver, Van-couver, Wash. At Fort Douglas he escaped in company with a number or other interned prisoners. Four of the j men. including Koch, were recaptured I in Ogden nnd while here told of tunneling tun-neling through the earth to make their escape. Six tnemy aliens who have refused to agree to the stipulation of the department de-partment of Justice that they shall terrain te-rrain irom radical activities and will report to an American supervisor at periodic intervals, were taken to the edge of the Fort Douglas reservation yesterday and turned Ioofc without money or transportation. Koch was due for deportation to Germany but at his own request will be sent to Chile. With tho release of the prisoners yesterday, Fort Douglas is empty of enemy aliens for the first time since May, 1917. |
