oo Save Money On Meat Week Is Announced Saving Effected Will Be Tremendous, Tre-mendous, Says Department Depart-ment of Justice WASHINGTON, March 15. Weeks in which tho department of Justice will initiate its plan to "save money on meat" in groups of states wero announced an-nounced today to supplement tho March 22 -to March 27 period when Iowa and soven other states will start tho plan. Retail dealers will carry unusual un-usual stocks of the cheaper cuts of meat, which customers are urged to buy. Week beginning March 29 Maine, Vermont, Massachusets, Washington, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Oregon and California; April 5 Southern states. April 12 Texas, Kansas, South Dakota, North Dakota, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado New Mexico, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Minnesota, Montana, Mon-tana, Wyoming, Utah and Arizona. If customers would buy these cheaper cheap-er but "highly nutritious and palatable" palat-able" cuts during these weeks, the department's de-partment's statement said, "tho saving effected will bo tremendous and the slackened demand for the cuts now popular will result in lower prices thereon." It added that the popular cuts wero frequently 50 lo 60 centa a pound higher than the cheaper meat.
