Carroll, former district manager of the Ogden division of tho Mountain States Telephone and Tele graph company, assumed the duties ol district manager In Salt Lake today, succeeding C. C. Campbell, who resigned re-signed to enter business. Mr. Carroll's Car-roll's successor at Ogden will be C. A. Poff-, former commercial agent at Ogden Og-den and later chief clerk to tho commercial com-mercial superintendent at Salt Lake. Mr. Carroll's promotion came aftei eighteen years of service with the telephone.., company. ' He started as clerk in tho maintenance department In Denver. Colo., In 1902. When Mr. Carroll went to Ogden the telephone company had 3700 subscribers. sub-scribers. Today the company is serving serv-ing CCOO. During the war he was one of the workers with the general committee com-mittee in behalf of the Liberty loan, Red Cioss, community servlcn and other drives. Mr. Carroll was born in Brandon, Misi. In 18D8 he was captain of B company, First Colorado regiment of tho United States volunteers. He went to tho Philippine Islands In November, No-vember, 1898, and returned in July, 1S90. . -nn |
