Show oo ffl DRIVEN BY i WDMH STRIKES II STREET GIR A serious automobile accident was narrowly averted by the quick application appli-cation of brakes this morning when a Ford automobile, driven b.v Mrs L. C. Wheeler of 429 Thirty -sixth street, collided with a west bound Twenty-seventh Twenty-seventh street car, at the intersection intersec-tion of Washington avenue and Twenty-fifth ' street. Mrs. Wheeler was driving north on Washington avenue and was accompanied accom-panied by three small children. The street car had stopped at the foot of the hill on Twenty-fifth street and was moving to pass ovr the intersection inter-section when the automobile struck i One of the small children in tjie car with Mrs Y i ler slid from thin th-in reaching quickly for the child, the mmner was un.ioie io snui on me engine, en-gine, but did apply the foot brake and thereby prevented a serious accident The automobile was damaged slightly, the fenders being bent and the steering steer-ing gear put out of commission. |
