MILLIONS IN THE BANKS OF OGDEN. t "What do your bank statements hold out in promise of goodt" That was the question put to an Ogden banker this morning and he replied : "One year ago six Ogden banks, publishing statements, as called for by the government, showed resources oi $1.000.000. Yesterday those same banks showed resources of over $17,500,000, notwithstanding notwithstand-ing the millions of dollars in liberty bonds that have been purchased by our people and which money has gone out of the city, and very litlle of il has returned. Look at this record and then think how easy it would be for the people of this county to build a dam in South Fork or some other nearby canyon, and thus be the. means of increasing increas-ing the farms m Weher county about 50 per cent, and making this one of the richest communities in the country " The Standard endorses that sentiment The banks of Ogden prove how prosperous are our people how well fortified are our financial institutions, and. furthermore how all the resources are at command to do as the banker suggests, build reservoirs and thereby greatly increase the riches of this county.
