Show PLAYERS FROM THE ARMY. NEW YORK, Dec. 28 That some young ball players of real ability will come out or the army is indicated in a letter recently received from a baseball- fan abroad. He related about a game between two soldiers teams, and on one of these combinations was Mike Menosky, the former Washington outfielder. out-fielder. The pitcher on the other team had an asy time with Menosky, much easier in fact than the major league boxmen wore accustomed to have against Griffith's outfielder in pre-war days. The fans inquired as to the iden- tity of the youngster and learned that he never had played professional ball, but was just a "young pitcher from the middle west " Evidently army life gave him a chance to develop a skill which had been latent.
