Show j Installation of Officers for Queen Esther, O. E. S. V J At a special meeting held at tho Masonic Temple last evening, the officers of-ficers of Queen Esther Chapter No. 4, O. E. S., for tho ensuing year were Installed. Past Grand Matron Minnie Haslet officiated, assisted by Mrs. Helen Cole and the retiring matron, Miss Edna Hamill. The following were the officers Installed: In-stalled: Kathleen Vicks, worthy matron; mat-ron; II. B. Sawyer, worthy patron; Margaret Craven, associate matron; Linda L. Irwin, secretary; Edith Gibson, Gib-son, treasuror; Helen Cole, conductress; conduc-tress; Cora Vicks. associate conductress; conduc-tress; Clara Dills, chaplain; Eliza Higgins, marshal; Mabel Rowsc, organist; or-ganist; Ruth Nye, Adah: Grace Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Ruth; Myrtle Ecklund, Esther; Gertrude Johnson, Martha; Ida Hinor, Electa; Gertrude Chilton, warder; Isella Tyree, sentinel. The retiring matron, Miss Edna Hamill, Ha-mill, was presented with a past matron's mat-ron's jewel, Mrs. Cora B. Sawyer making mak-ing the presentation. ANNOUNCE WEDDING I Mr. and Mrs. . Frederick Bremer wish to announce the wedding of their i daughter, Margaret, the ceremony tak-1 ing place last Wednesday, when Miss Margaret became the bride of Henry Neville of Detroit, Michigan. The young lady is very well known in Ogden Og-den and will reside In Detroit. Her many friends here wish her happiness and prosperity. VISITING IN SALT LAKE CITY Reverend and Mrs. J. E. Carver and little son John are visiting in Salt Lake City this afternoon with friends. LADIES LITERARY SOCIETY The first meeting of the Ladies Lit- ed on- public gatherings, will be held January 8 at the home of Mrs. I. N. Fulton on Lincoln avenue- when Mrs. Zinn will give Current Magazine Review Re-view and Mrs. John Culley will give a paper on "The Senate and the House of Representatives." RETURNS TO 'CAPITAL j Mrs. O. E. McMulleh of Salt Lakej City has returned to the capital after spending the Christmas holidays in Ogden with her mother Mrs. I. N. Fulton Ful-ton on Lincoln avenue. ARRIVE HOME Captain and Mrs. E. R. Dumke arrived ar-rived in Ogden yesterday from Fort Logan, Colorado, where the captain has been in the service for a number of months. Captain Dumke, formerly a physician of this city has been on the staff of the chief surgeon at Fort Logan. Lieutenant and Mrs. Roscoe C. Gwil-liam Gwil-liam also arrived In Ogden yesterday from Miami, Florida, where Uie former for-mer has been in trainlnir as a naval aviator. Both Captain Dumke and Lieutenant Gwilliam are on leave and will bo compelled to return to their duties. Mrs. Gwilliam and Mrs. Dumke were formerly the Misses Wattis, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Wattis. VISITING IN PCCATELLO Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Sims and son Jack, Mrs. J. L. Hill. Mrs. J. L. Forst and son Loren left Ogden last Tuesday Tues-day to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Frost of 1617 Uorth Main street, Pocatcllo, Idaho. They expect to remain until the new year. LEAVE FOR' COAST Mr. and Mrs. L. Leo Madsen leave today at 3:30 p. m. on the Overland Limited for San Francisco, where thoy will spend several weeks. MARRIED LAST TUESDAY The marriage of a well known Ogden Og-den girl, was solemnized Tuesday afternoon af-ternoon when Miss Ivy Holbrook and Mr. Clyde Thompson were quietly wedded In the home of Rev. John Edward Ed-ward Carver. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson will make their home in Oakland, California Cal-ifornia after a few weeks honeymoon. A bit of romance that was as quaint as It was exceptional was the service with a wedding ring that had been worn for fifty one years by the bride's mother. The gold for the ring having beon dug from Montana gold fields by Mr Holbrook fifty-four years ago and given by him to a pioneer jeweler to be made into a wedding ring. |
