This, the main event, was a smashing good contest all tho way. Tho fighting was fast and furious to a marked degree, both boys being willing to mix at all times. In the very first round Downing landed a terrific right to Burke's eye, cutting an ugly gash over that member, mem-ber, which bled profusely during the entire contest, causing great discomfort discom-fort and Inconvenience to the soldier boxer.
