William Richard Holt, radical member mem-ber from the Hexham division of Northumberland, prepared an amendment amend-ment to tho address, expressing regret that "In accordance with tho decisions of tho supreme war council at Versailles, Versail-les, prosecution of military effort is to be tho only immediate task of tho government." gov-ernment." This amendment is supported sup-ported by a number of Liberals nnd XJnlonlsts.
