Show VAUDEVILLE BY LOCI TUT PLEASES AUDIENCE If Knights of Columbus throughout America respond as generously to the welfare fund being raised for army camps as did Ogden Knights and their friends last night to the fund benefit show, a prediction that the amount will be greatly over-subscribed would not be an overdrawn forecast. The Orpheuin theater was filled, meaning every seat was taken, including boxes and nearly all of tho gallery, and tho crowd .showed Its appreciation of the vaudeville show given flvo big, good acts by hearty applause. Really tho show was good. Vaudeville Vaude-ville is very difficult for amatours to stage but the boys and girls presenting present-ing the show last night had overcome difficulties and had polished themselves them-selves up to the professional class. There wore five acts, just enough diversity to make it peppy and interesting. inter-esting. Monsignor P. M. Cushnahan, V. G., opened tho ovening with a brief address. Cushnahan Talks. He reminded the audience of tho purpose for which the show was being given and urged thoso present to extend ex-tend their support of tho Knights of Columbus welfare fund to every other affair given for its benefit. "We are fighting tho causo of glory and the American flag," he said in part. "In this work are Catholics, non-Catholics and infidels. We are not fighting a religious war. Thore are men of no religious persuasion In thp army who are getting the benefit of the welfare f3, of utuo Y- M- c- A- u Knights of Columbus. We now realize that we must fight to tho last ditch. There can be no turning back. Wo must go on with this struggle until the Stars and Stripes can be removed from the war torn and bloody fields of France and brought hqmo with tho assurance that there will be no more invasions of Belgium, no more sinkings of ships without warning; until America can look Into tho futuro with the same religious freedom that we have had in tho past. And now, my follow citizens, we must givo generously to those causes.
