Show BRITISH SHIP STRIKES MINE ' ELEVEN DEAD LONDON, Dec. S. Eloven men are missing as a result of the British warship war-ship Cassandra coming in contact with a mine in the Baltic sea last Wednesday Wednes-day night, according to an official communication issued by the admiralty admiral-ty tonight. Torpedo boat destroyers rescued the remainder of the crew. The text of the admiralty statement says: "The British warship Cassandra struck a mine In the Baltic just before be-fore midnight Wednesday and sank at 1 a. m., Thursday. Elevon men are missing. Presumably they were killed by the explosion. "The remainder of tho officers and crew were saved by our destroyers." Available lists of British admiralty ships do not contain the Cassandra. nn . ! |
