Recently Harry A. Wheeler, Chicago, president of the chamber of commerce of the United StatcB, sent an Inquiry to President Wilson asking If a business bus-iness men's commission would be f helpful at the peace conference. President Pres-ident Wilson made no direct reply, according ac-cording to Mr. Wheeler. The resolution, which was unanimously unani-mously adopted by the congress, says: "The chamber of commerce of the United States is requested to enlist the co-operation of national bodies devoted devot-ed to the extension and promotion of American commerce and particularly foreign trade in the appointment of a commission representative of American Ameri-can business which shall proceed without with-out delay to Europe and establish machinery ma-chinery for the following purposes: "A To study at first hand the reconstruction re-construction needs of European countries coun-tries In conjunction with business men of these nations in order to advise the business men of the United States as to how they may bo most helpful in meeting tho necessities of Europe and caring for tho interests of American industry and commerce. "B To be available to the peace delegates of the United States for any needed information which they may be able to present or for any other aid which may bo given by the business men of the United States through the medium of such a commission.
