Show ISALT LIE TIES OFF Pffll SALT LAKE, Dec. 7 The state and city boards of. health last nightvoted unanimously to lift the ban against gatherings in churches and theatres, which were closed nearly "ten "weeks ago "when the influenza epidemic first reached this state. Churches' will open Sunday and permission for theatres to open Monday was- granted. The influenza in-fluenza situation remains practically unchanged today, seven death and 115 new cases being reported. Lifting of quarantine restrictions affecting other than churches and theatres will take place as conditions warrant, it was announced. Attending the ban-lifting meeting were: Dr. Clarence Snow, Dr. Samuel G. Paul, Dr. P. H. Raley and Karl Scheldt members of the city board of health; Dr. T. B. Beatty, Dr. Ezra F. BJch of Ogden and Dr. Fred Stauffer of the state board of health. Seven deaths and 115 new cases of influenza summed up the epidemic situation sit-uation in Salt Lake last night when the reports reaching the city health office had been compiled. The death list' included Abraham "Weiss, aged 27 years; Hazel Mav Waite, 27; James A. Raines, 30; William Wil-liam H. Smith, 29; Gerald Gouty, 15; Mrs. Annie Sims Jones, 58, and Frances Fran-ces E. Jennesen, 70. The popularity of the antl-influenza vaccine Is growing dally, the total number of inoculations yesterday exceeding ex-ceeding by 495 the record established the previous day. One thousand, eight hundred and sixty persons were treat ed yesterday, as compared with 1365 on Thursday. Treatments given at the Emergency hospital numbered 615, while the other stations reported a total to-tal of 1215. These were Austin Yerg-ensen, Yerg-ensen, who died Wednesday at Monroe; Mon-roe; Mrs. V. R. Force of Springvllle, Enoch Henry Barton of Syracuse, Mrs. Margaret Teeples and Infant of Magna Mag-na and Mrs. Mary W. Burgess of Alpine, Al-pine, all of whom died Thursday. Five new cases of influenza were admitted to the post Isolation hospital during the day. Three of these were from the student army training corps at the University of Utah and two were from the post organizations. |
