Show CHARLES BRISCOE IS UNDER $300 601 Charles Briscoe, negro, arrested by Detective Pete Naylin for robbing George Anderson, a carpenter at the Marion hotel of $25, waived his preliminary pre-liminary hearing in municipal court this morning. Judge George S. Darker, Dar-ker, presiding, bound the prisoner over to the district court for trial and, in default of $300 bond, Briscoe was remanded re-manded to the custody of the sheriff. Briscoe, who stoutly maintained his in- nocence until the money was found hidden in the inside armpit of his sweater, gave an order to Police Sergeant Ser-geant George Carey this morning to pay the entire amount to Anderson. It is understood that when he is arraigned ar-raigned in the district court he will enter a plea of guilty and ask for the lowest sentence. oo |
