Show BRITISH REASSURE RUSSIAN PEOPLEj LONDON, Dec 10 Sir George Buchanan, Bu-chanan, the British ambassador, In an Interview with Russian journalists, according ac-cording to a Reuter dispatch from Petrograd Pet-rograd assured them of British sympathy sympa-thy for Russian pcoplo and denied absolutely Uie reports that Great Britain Brit-ain contemplated coercive and punitive puni-tive action in the event of Russia making a separate peace. The British government tho ambassador am-bassador said, .was entitled to com plain of tho action of the Bolsheviki government in negotiating with the enemy, but did not wish to Induco an unwilling ally to continue to share the common effort by appealing to treaty rights. Great Britain, he added, was ready as soon as a stable government was established to examine with it the aims of the war and possible conditions con-ditions for a just and durable peace.
