Show I IS. fiOr CASTLE DIES SOON AFTER BEING SHOT Funeral services will be conducted over the body of Mrs. Roy Castle, 28 years old, and the wife of a Union Pacific brakeman, at the Lindquist undertaking parlors, at 2'O'clock, Tues-dny Tues-dny afternoon. Mrs. . Castle died of an accidental bullet wound in her side, received at her home, 2943 Childs avenue about 8:15 Saturday night. She lived only a few hours, dying shortly before midnight. mid-night. The tragedy was extremely unfortunate unfortu-nate and due to merest unhappy chance. Mrs. George Lucas residing at 346 Twenty-eighth street, and a particular par-ticular friend of Mrs. Castld's, went to the Castle home for a friendly visit. Upon leaving her own home, Mrs. Lucas, Lu-cas, as was her custom since a recent attack by night prowler, placed a .38 Colt's revolver In her overcoat pocket. Upon arriving at the Castle home, she threw the overcoat upon an un-made bed without removing the weapon or warning Mrs. Castle of its presence. Within a few minutes, Mrs. Castle went Into the room to make-up the bed. She saw" the overcoat, picked it up, intending to place It on a chair, when the revolver fell from the pocket and struck the floor with sufficient i violence to explode the cartridge. ' The bullet entered at the left of the abdomen and plowed its way through the left side, piercing the lungs, but missing-the heart, and coming out at the back just below the shoulder bone, j An ambulance was called and the i stricken Mrs. Castle hurried to the ! hospital, but her recovery was beyond I medical or surgical aid. She suffered intense pain, hut did not lose consciousness con-sciousness until a few minutes before death. Roy Castle, husband of Mrs. Castle, had left on his regular run at 6:15. He was intercepted by a telegram and returned re-turned to the city on the noxt train, but did not arrive at the hospital be- ! fore the death of his wife.
