Things have been moving with a rush here in the last twenty-four hours. Portland has been granted a franchise in the Northwestern North-western league and agreements have been sent south to Walter McCredie to sign, which will leave the Coast league magnates with a free hand to take in Sacramento. In place of Portland, if they wish. , Last night Judgo McCredie was advised ad-vised by President R. A. Blewett of the Northwestern league that Portland would be granted a franchlso in the circuit next year. The agreement which went south was In triplicate form. It roquested the Coast league magnates to release all claim to every asset of the Portland club, with the exception of the franchise, fran-chise, which, in turn, be given up by Portland. One agreement when signed, sign-ed, was to go to Secretary Farrell of the national association, one to President Presi-dent Baum and one to Judge McCredie. This precaution was taken to protect the players, the property of the Portland Port-land club and to prevent any mlxup in the future. Judge McCredie is now sole owner of the Portland assets, he declares, and he said today that he hardly expected Walter McCredie to return north next spring. If he doesn't, it looks as If McCredie may manage Vernon and Bill Rodgers be put at the head of the Portland Northwestern league club.
