On night recently a Gorman officer offi-cer crawled across No Man's Land to tho British wire, raised his' hands and cried "Comrade!" British sol-dicrs sol-dicrs covered him with rifles whereupon where-upon tho German said: "Excuse me if I lower my hands, I'vo got a package here." Tho surprised Brltishors granted the request and the German dropped into the trench. In his hands he had a package of laundry. He said ho had decided to surrender a week beforo. but had waited until his laundry j camo back. |
