Show BONDS ARE TAKEN BY COLLEGE BOYS LOGAN, Oct. 10. As outward manifestation mani-festation of the 'loyalty to the flag pledged by the Utah Agricultural college col-lege unit of the S. A. T. C. at the recent re-cent installation ceremonies held at the institution, (he members of the unit agreed to buy nearly , $12,000 worth of Liberty bonds today. This represents the amount pledged on the opening day of tho drive. Several thousand dollars will doubtless be added add-ed to this total before the drive is over. Captain Henry D. Moyle, who is in charge of the drive, is enthusiastic over the patriotic showing made by tho men. "Nearly three hundred men have pledged themselves to buv bonds," said Caplain Moyle. "When wo consider that these men are getting get-ting but $30 a month and that out of this practically all nre paying $6 monthly to the government for insurance insur-ance while many are allotting dependents depend-ents $15 each month, we sec that thoy arc showing a high degree of patriot- -ism." In addition to the amount subscribed subscrib-ed by tho cnlisUed men, nearly two thousands was subscribed by the officers of-ficers of the unit. Of the entire amount subscribed. $2500 was in cash. Of this, tho enlisted men subscribed $800 The rest will be taken out of their monthly pay by the government according ac-cording to the army allotment system. -oo It's a poor picture that attracts less attention than tho frame. |
