H and proposing a. new resolution in lieu thereof amending Section 22 of the Constitution of tho State of "Utah, by edding Section u thereto. relating to the prohibition and regulation of sale, manufacture, use. advertisement of, pos session of, or traffic in intoxicating liquors. Whereas, House Joint Resolution No. 1, proposing to amend the Constitution of tho Stato of Utah by adding Section 3 to Article XXII, has been passed by both Houses of this Legislature, and filed with tho Secretary of State, and "Whereas, the engrossed copy 'thereof differs IH In a certain important respect from the reao- IH Iutlon as actually passed by both Houses, in IH that in the sixth line of Section 3, as pro- H po-icd, after lh word ''nature" the words "and all malt and brewed drinks" were omitted from said engrossed copy. I Now, therefore, be It resolved by the legis-lature legis-lature of the State of Utah, two-thirds of lh members elected to each of the two Houses concurring : Section 1. That It Is proposed Ao amend Article 22 of the Constitution of" Utah- by adding Section 3. thereto, which section shall read as follows : Section 3, Tho manufacture, sole, keeping or storing for sale or offering or exposing for fl sale, or importing, carrying, trui. .porting, ad vortislng, distributing, giving away, exchange ! ing, dispensing, or serving of all fermented malt, vinous or spirituous liquors, alcohol, wine, porter, ale, beer, absinth or any other I Intoxicating drink, mlxturo or preparation of I like naturo: ar.d all malt or brewed drinks: fruits preserved In alcoholic liquors of any kind; and all beverages containing In excess oi one-half of one per centum of alcohol by vol- H um: and all mixtures, compounds or prepara jH tlon', whether liquid or not. which are In tended when mixed with water, or otherwise, to produce by fermentation or otherwise an intoxicatins liquor, are hereby forever pro hlblted- In tho State, except alcohol for trie o tlfle and manufacturing purposes, and wins used for sacramental purport.
