Show CHIEF OF POLICE CSSE BEFORE COURT TOiomow District Judge Alfred W. Agee will hear arguments tomorrow afternoon on tho demurrer to the indictment of Chief of Police Thomas E. Browning, which indictment alleged a technical violation of law in a case of admitting two prisoners to jail, in which Chief Browning exercised his discretion and judgment. It is probable the demurrer will be sustained and the Indictment quashed, because District Attorney S. P. Dobbs has confessed in open court that he could not find the necessary law to sustain tho chargo. Pedro Romero, charged with burglary, burg-lary, will be tried on May 1 before Judgo Agee. John Massa, colored, charged with assault with intent to kill, will bo tried May 2. The trial of Mrs. Fannio Belle Wilbur has been postponed until May 8, because all of the present trial jurors are familiar with the facts through the trial of Joseph Murdock, who was convicted. Relatives and friends of the unfortunate unfor-tunate Murdock were trying to find an opportunity today to plead for clemency in his behalf. They are appealing ap-pealing for mercy on account of the extenuating circumstances of the case and the fact that he is the provider pro-vider for his wife and nine children.
