Show KB IDE 1 THE IBM SOU Attorney Charles R. Hollingsworth filed in the district court on April 13 for George W. Barlow, president of the Electric Service company, a complaint alleging that William G. King, former vico president and manager of the sign department of the company, had collected and failed to turn over to the company $4,583.56. for which judgment judg-ment was asked. Mr. King recently severed his connection con-nection with the Barlow company and became manager of Redfield-King, incorporated, in-corporated, manufacturers of electric signs, at a now plant which thev established es-tablished at 314 Washington avenue. , After publication of Mr. Barlow's complaint. Mr. King retained Judge Hiram Hi-ram H Henderson as his attorney. "Mr. Henderson will make proper legal le-gal answer to the complaint," Mr. King said today, adding: "The whole sum received by me from the Electric Service company was understood as applied as part of my salary, which more than covered the amount. "This also was true of the $-132 alleged al-leged as due Mr. Barlow for board and lodging. The sum was credited against me as part of my salary. "Mr. Barlow's complaint includes a charge that I collected $595 for my former for-mer employers, the King-Richardson company of Springfield, Mass., and that the Electric Service company advanced ad-vanced money to settle the claim. The truth is that I owed the Springfield firm about $400 for goods purchased. "It was not funds collected, and the account was paid by my personal note seconded by George W. Barlow and charged on his books as part of my salary. This part of the complaint was ' put in to give color and plausibility to ; the rest of it." |
