Show MORE IN REGARD TO THE GRAND JURY. In an attempt to reflect on our local courts, the morning paper demands de-mands to know why a grand jury should have been called in Ogden, and then assumes an attitude of purity and piety, declaring: "Ogden citizens are peaceful and law-abiding. Respect for the law is one of its cardinal principles. Ogden is a God-fearing, church-going, patriotic patri-otic and law-abiding city." If that argument is conclusive, then there is no need for courts, police or juries. A little of this nagging may yet prove that grand juries are not without with-out merit. While there were mistakes made by the grand jury, the proceedings had a wholesome effect. nn |
