Show SEW SERVICE WORK COI 01 UNDER LOCAL H Senator Joseph Chez, director of the secret service committee of the safety and preparation committee, today was a hard man to interview concerning this branch of tho public safety work. Ho was asked concerning various stories, all of which had been investigated investi-gated by the secret workers, and most of which proved to be rumors. However, the secret service chief said the committee was doing excellent excel-lent work; that he was gratified by the large number of volunteers, no one of whom know of the identity of other workers. "Tho commltteo is thoroughly organized, or-ganized, alert and vigilant," he said, "with representatives in every store, building, office, plant and a large number num-ber of the homes. Every part of the city is covered. Tho committee has eyes and ears everywhere. No alien need fear tho effect of the secret service serv-ice work, but may be assured of am-ploprotection. am-ploprotection. Tho only demand is that every alien oboy the order not to carry arms of any kind and to keep bis mouth shut concerning tho war. The secret service work will bring to Light, perhaps, every citizen who is nffllcted with a yellow streak and who svinces by word or deed his disloyally disloyal-ly to the government."
