Show RED CROSS CARING FOR FAMILIES CHICAGO, April 11 With but one Chicago regiment of the national guard, tho First infantry, called out, fifteen families of members of the guard are being cared for by the Red Cross from funds collected at tho timo of the bordor mobilization. One family fam-ily of a soldier in tho regular army is also being cared for. Most of the cases of destitution are in families of young wives and small children. Preparations Prep-arations are now being made by the Red Cross to handle the situation when tho rest of the Chicago regiments regi-ments are called out Three hundred and ninety-six women registered yesterday for Red Cross training and 200 women signed for various va-rious forms of service at the women's reserve headquarters. |
