Show J NEW PROJECT; J H TOWN The Davis and Weber Land Company Com-pany is today launching one of the greatest colonization campaigns that has ever been placed before the public In Davis or Weber counties. This project lies on the upper bench, just south of the city of Ogden, and has been considered by many experts as one of the most practical irrigation projects In the Intermountain country. These lands laid all on extremely fine quality of sedimentry, sandy loam, and practically all virgin soil, which has only been scratched here and there by dry farming. This project will be known by the name of Sunset Heights. The station of Sunset on the Salt Lake and Ogden Electric Hallway, is located almost in the center of the project. The entire project was handled han-dled under the direct management of Mr. Emmet F. Annis, civil engineer, and graduate of the University of Michigan. Through the practical engineering engi-neering features which he has perfected per-fected has made It possible to Irrigate In the neighborhood of 2000 acres of the upper bench land, lying some sixty-five feet abovo the Davis and Weber canal, at a more economical and more practical irrigation system than the original gravity flow canal. The water is raised to the higher levels lev-els by means of a turbine wheel with 264 horse-power, which is operated by the waters of the canal, and the water wa-ter Is delivered through 24,-inch redwood red-wood pipe to the consumer. About 1000 acres has already been piped and is now ready for immediate development. develop-ment. In interviewing Mr. L. W. Coffee, sales manager tor the Davis and Weber We-ber Land company, this morning, he stated that the project was one of the best and most scientifically equipped for diversified farming that he had ever seen. Mr. Coffee also stated that a large corps of engineers are now working on the property, and that all possible developments, construction construc-tion of roads, etc., will be rushed to Its utmost for the grand opening of the tract. However, Mr. Coffee stated that they would be In a position to made a good showing by next Sunday, and that the company invites the public pub-lic to inspect their project. They will have automobiles at the Sunset station all day Sunday for the purpose of conveying the public over the project and, no doubt, that any one who will inveslgate the project will have to admit ad-mit that some of the best lands in the vicinity of Ogden has laid right at its very door ever since 1883, when the Davis and Weber canal was first put into use, and this very project would have been one of the most desirable de-sirable locations, and easiest, and simplest sim-plest of that Bectlon, to have covered farms with .the waters of the Davis and Weber canal. This land will be placed on the market by the Davis ; and Weber Land company, in a verv ; short time. Town site lots at Sunset station will range in size from half acre to acre lots, and the balance of the property will be divided Into five acre units and sold upon the most liberal lib-eral installment basis, as the company have decided to give all the leniency possible to the man that improves his property. |
