There is nothing rijJ2 i is so important to a 0ma! I as the coloring which goes Into h I gowns. A little false color or an 0T.j ' I emphasis of color may kill not onl l I her dress, hut her whole charm. '- I It Is really the color In woman'. l dress which Interprets the woman her . I Bclf. Life Is vibration and color Is v ' I bration. If the vibrations In our clotk I Ing are harmonious with us wq jjTa 1 I happy. 1 I I have heard women say, "I nerver I feel comfortable In such and Buch a ' I dress." And I have heard them say I "I never put on this dress without feeU I Ing gay and light-hearted." I The reason for this probably l8 thai ' I tho "unhappy" dress has clashing col J ors or colors which do not harmonize ' ' 1 with the woman's personality, while In the second case we havo a dresa, no ' doubt whoso coloring Is perfectly ! harmonious with itself and with ths : spirit of its wearer. i j I think the gift of color understand- ing is the most wonderful that ths J great source of all things can gfra , us. We know that a painting that i , the soul of beauty can be utterly ' spoiled and be made only an ugly daub by retouching here and there with different colors. ' We have all seen how some wonderful wonder-ful landscapes set out as the creator ', Intended it has been utterly spoiled by .' some glaring rnonstrosity designed by ' man. If this is so of paintings and ' nature, how3, much more Is it so cA ! woman! I am prompted to write of the Inn- : porlanco of color because the colors , of this summer are In the majority ol dresses more glowing, brilliant, many. hued than ever. There will be cxtraor- ' dinary combinations. , I have in mind a dress which looked at itself seems to be utterly Inbar-monioy.s Inbar-monioy.s and almost shocking In lta ,, coloring. But this same dress on a T tall slender woman with black hair and an olive skin immediately resolves re-solves Itself into most wonderful harmony. har-mony. The dress and the woman Interpret . and blend into each other exquisitely. And this, to my mind. Is a perfect ' dress. 'j Of course, one can never go wrong with the pastel shades, nor with slm- j pie whites and blues. Every woman, f however, craves for these gorgeou3 assembling as-sembling of hues. Every -woman, at least now and then, envies the buti- j fly. It Is to these that I preach cau I tion this season. :. |
