Show w IS. I. D. MURPHY CULLED ST DEATH Mrs. Nancy D. Murphy, widow of John J. Murphy and a pioneer of Og-den, Og-den, died yesterday afternoon in Salt Lake City at the home of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Moroni D. Ferrln. She was 6S years old. The body will bo brought to Ogden tomorrow and taken to the Larkin & Sons' mortuary. Funeral Fu-neral services will be held at the Eighth ward 'meeting house, at noon Sunday. Mrs. Murphy was born In South Carolina, January 21, 1848, and became be-came a member of the Mormon church in her earlv childhood. She was mar ried to John J-Murphy 48 years ago yesterday. A few days after the wedding, wed-ding, the young couple started across tho plains to Utah. They arrived in Ogden the same year and made thoir first home on Twelfth street, where Mrsc. Murphy resided until 12 years ago, when she went to Salt Lake (to live with her children. She is survived by the following children: Jesse J. Murphy of Roseville, Cal.; Mrs. Moroni D. Ferrln, William T. Murphy, Mrs. Wiliam Pugh, Richard T. and Arthur D. Murphy of Salt Lake, and John J. Murphy and Mrs. John Swenson of Ogden. A sister, Mrs. Delilah Humphrey and forty-five grandchildren, also survive. Funeral services will be held In Seventh Sev-enth ward meeting house Sunday at 12 m. Interment Ogden City cemetery; ceme-tery; auto cortege. |
