Show NINETEENTH WAR OF UNITED STATES. If war is again deolared, this will be the nineteenth declaration of wax by the United States. On April 24, 18-16, the United States went to war with Mexico for the first time. Tho conflict continued contin-ued over two years, peace being announced an-nounced July 4, 1S48. During the entire en-tire campaign there were fewer troops employed on the American side than now have been called to the border to guard the towns on the Rio Grande.
