Show ME SIX "C IS BIG CLIMB Los Angeles has the reputation of being a hill town, even putting It over on Ogden, and Mount Washington is about the hardest trip for an auto in the city. It is difficult to make, but manager Charles H. Wilson of the Utah Idaho Motor company of this citv states that the Paige Six "46" made that hill with perfect ease. It was a spine-thllling stunt and was looked upon by machine men as a great achievement. In making the drive the machine was turned in ahead of the cable car at the foot of the hill and crossed over the planked railway at an elevation eleva-tion of 400 feet, the grade ranging from 25 to 37 per cent. The planks were covered with grease, but the Paige Six made it with comparative ease. The climb meant the sale of the machine. oo |
