Show LAW ON DRAKE DECLARED VALID In a written decision by the supreme su-preme court of Utah, the state law providing for the creation of drainage districts in the various counties for the reclamation of water-logged lands, has been declared valid and constitutional, constitu-tional, the decision having been rendered rend-ered in the case of tho 6tate ex rel John Y. Ferry, against the Corlnno Drainage District of Box Elder county, John J. Craner, C. G. Adney and E. W. Dunn, supervisors of the district. It was a friendly suit, brought under un-der a writ of prohibition to determine the validity of the late drainage law, tho supervisors of the Corlnne district dis-trict having decided to issue bonds for the improvement and having let the contract for the work. The written decision of the supreme court is "that the drainage act in question ques-tion Is wholesome and valid law; and the admitted facts show that the law in the present instance has boon scrupulously followed and adhered to in every particular. The contract for tho Improvement has been let to the J. P. O'Neill Construction Con-struction company of this city and the cost will approximate S150.000. The contracting company has ordered special spe-cial trench-digging machinery and as soon as the order to begin work shall be given, tho machinery will bo placed plac-ed on the ground and operations begun. be-gun. Operations will not be started, however, until attorneys for the bond-holding bond-holding companies have passed on the decision of the supremo court, which will likely bo within tho next two or three weeks.
