Show SALTLAKETOHAVE BIG TOURNAMENT A. A. U. Boxing and Wrestling Wres-tling Contest to Be Held in Salt Lake, April 12, 13 and 14 Ogden Will Participate. Salt Lake, March' 30. Keen Interest Inter-est has been aroused in tho A. A. U. boxing and wrestling tournament which is to be held in Salt Lake April 12, 13 and 14. Already inquiries have been made from Preston, Logan, Pocatello, Brlgham City, Ogden, Pro-vo Pro-vo and Woods Cross. Several private athletic clubs In the city have ox-pressed ox-pressed a desire to enter athletics in tho different events. It Is the desire of the officials connected con-nected with the meet to run off the events with dispatch. With R. J. Armstrong Arm-strong referee In the boxing bouts, the boys feel confident of fair decisions. deci-sions. Arrangements for a suitable place to hold the bout are being made by a committee of which Freeman Bassett Is chairman. Bassett states that tho committee expects to decide on the place today. Nelson Norgren Is another booster boost-er for the tournament. He says he will enter from tho university and lend any assistance possible. The entry blanks will be off the press today, and Secretary Blrken-stock Blrken-stock will commence mailing them to the different Schools, colleges and athletic clubs throughout tho Intor-mountaln Intor-mountaln country. Coach Eugene Roberts of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university of Provo has a large class of boxers from which he wlU send some classy boys. Assistant Assist-ant Coach Webb has a good bunch of boys in the wrestling department, which should insure a good representation represent-ation from this popular Provo school. As yet not much has boon heard (from Coach Ofstl of the A. C. U. at Logan, but It Is expected that Jones, I who has charge of the wrestlers, will send a lively bunch of youngsters to represent the college. |
