NIGHT SCHOOL TO OPEN FOR EVERYBODY ON . NEXT MONDAY . '5. In accordance with the contention ol Superintendent John M. Mills that the school plant should be used longer long-er hours in the day and also during the evening, the social center will open at the Lewis school at 7 o'clock on Monday evening, No ember 30. This night school will be conducted f.te for all who want to attend. This includes men and women and young people abovo the school age who aro prevented from attending school during dur-ing the da. Any study will be given when there is sufficient call to jus-tif jus-tif lu speaking of the innovation this morning. Superintendent Mills said. "The old idea that the school is a ph.ee that opens at 9 o'clock and closes at 3:30, where children between be-tween certain ages are admitted, is no longer in force in Ogden. The school opens at 8.30 in the morning and runs until 10 o'clock at night and is intended to meet the needs of individuals. The citizens of the city have built the school houses. Why not use them0 They stand idle about half of the time during the school car. "Some of the studies to be included in the night school will be arithmetic, grammar, history, geography, sewing, cooking, commercial law for business men, German. French, and Spanish, tookkeeplng shorthand, typewriting, music, art and elocution or any other subject that there is sufficient demand de-mand for. There will also be games, r creation and physical culture. The school will open at 7 o'clock There will be teachers on hand to conduct all of these courses and it is all free to everybody Attorney Joseph E Evans has been engaged to teach a course in business law to business men and others who desire to attend This will he conducted con-ducted in the social center in the Lewis Junior high school. Monday evenings Attorney Evans is a graduate grad-uate of one of the best law schools in the United States, the law school of the University of Chicago. This course is free. rvo
