Show MUSICUE AT FIRST METHODIST CHORCH IS A SOCCESS A musical program of high excellence excel-lence was listened to with unalloyed pleasure last night by a fair-sized au- ! dience in the First Methodist church The recital was given by local singers sing-ers and musicians and included some exceptionally ambitious numbers. In the opinion of those who were fortunate fortun-ate enough to hear the program, there were no features as it was finely arranged and oach number was ren iered In a most artistic and pleasing aj In view of Miss Ro3amond i Laird being one of the city's younger 3lngers, it may be said that her rendition ren-dition of the difficult "Villanelle," by Dell Acqua surprised even her best friends, and her other solo. "When the World Sleeps Silently," by Hans Hermann, was delightfully sung Miss Rosalie Holberg, whose ability abil-ity as a singer is well known, was in excellent voice and pleased everyone with her numbers A. R. White and H. R Aldridge proved themselves not only the pos sessora of unusually good voices, but cultured singers as well. Tho work of the instrumentalists showed careful care-ful training and the result of consist ent practice and each of their numbers num-bers was loudly applauded.
