The early losing stakes for the grand circuit meeting at Charter Oak park, September Sep-tember 7 to 12, were announced today. to-day. There are five trotting class'es as follows: 2:14, Charter Oak, 510,000. 2: OS, Capital City, ?2000. 2:12, Elmwood, $2000. 2:20, Corinthian 2000. 2:24, three-year-olds, Acorn, $2000. There are also two pacing events; free for all, $2500; 2:10, Nutmeg, $2000. The to'tal purses amount to $22,500. The Connecticut Fair association has reduced tho entrance fee In all except the Charter Oak stake, to 3 per cent, while- the Charter Oak entrance en-trance fee has been raised to 3 per cent from 2 1-2 per cent. But his sixty years were held to be too many to allow him to compete com-pete with the youth of the country and his entry was rejected.
